In Performing Arts, the students are introduced to a variety of activities such as playing instruments, movement games, drama and dancing. The Foundation students are playing Percussion instruments such as Eggshakers. The Grades 1 and 2 are playing Chime Bars and other Percussion instruments. The Grades 3 to 6 are learning to play the Ukulele.
The students participate in movement games such as the Four corners, Zip Zap which are modified to suit the grade and the students. In Dancing students participate in a selected genre of dance eg. Hip hop, and are tutored to learn the choreography. In Drama, students are taught various acting skills and encouraged to enact it out in role-plays.
There are 3 Concerts per year to showcase our students’ talent in Performing Arts - Harmony Day, Whole School Concert and a Christmas Concert. These events are for the whole school community to witness, especially families and carers.
Harmony Day - special assembly where individuals or a small group of students perform dances/songs from their culture.
Whole School Concert - This concert is across two nights which is off-site. It is designed to accommodate the whole school community. It is a full school participation, where each grade rehearses a particular song or/and dance to perform to an audience.
Christmas Concert - This concert is conducted outdoors in the school premises to conclude our academic year with a celebration.
Assembly: Occasionally, students perform at the fortnightly assembly conducted on a Friday.
Dance Club: Held once a week during our lunch break to encourage students to extend their learning beyond the classroom.
